What to Bring to a Dig

Along with What to Wear, it is best to pack for all eventualities! Better to have and not use than never to have had at all…

As a basic list, in no particular order, what to bring on a dig:

Water bottle(s) – hydrated is healthy

Snacks  – better not chocolate (melty)

Notebook and pen(cil)s

Moisturiser/ lip balm

Kneeling mat/ knee pads – to prevent aches, or to ease them if you didn’t bring them when you ‘knew better’

Medications – best let those in charge know if you have any relevant/significant health issues

Buff/bandana – for their multi-purpose versatility

Suncream

Sunglasses

Midgie/ insect repellent

Hankies

Anything special you may require in the toilet department

All in a rucksack or bag (with waterproof covering if there’s a sniff of rain in the air/ damp on the ground)

See The Trouble with Ticks for more irritating insect info.
